Scope and Contents Morris was selected as the official biographer of President Reagan in 1984 and had access to the president, the White House and archival material. The literary techique he utilized in writing this book can be classsified as postmodernist non-fiction because Morris' "biographical mind" became another character in telling Reagan's life story. It deals mainly with Indiana's work from the late 1950's to the early 1970's with emphasis on his visual language works and worded sculptured columns called "herms." The art works are critiqued by Ryan. There are sections that deal with Indiana's poetry and his artist statements.
